of Silk Fabric
Silk is a natural protein fiber produced from the
silk-glands of silkworms. The finest silk fibers, and most common
variety, which are used today, are produced by cultivating silkworms in
a controlled environment.
Silk yarn that has been processed can be woven or knit into a variety
of fabrics. Silk often has a wonderful feel and an almost iridescent
sheen that makes it extremely elegant. The fabric is known for its
softness, luster, beauty and luxurious look. It is one of the higher
grade fabrics, and is the strongest natural fabric in the world. Apparel
made silk gives the wearer comfort in all types of weather. It keeps the
body cool in summer and warm in winter.
