Turban
Turban is a headdress of Asian origin, usually
consisting of a long scraf worn round the head. It is basically a men
wear in India and the length of the cloth rarely exceeds 5 meters.
Turbans worn by Indian men are also known as safas or pugrees, which
symbolise their class, caste and religious association.
There are many variations of turbans in India and are worn by people of
different regions. The Rajput people from the state of Rajasthan wear
distinct turbans. The turban worn by people of Sikh religion is known as
dastaar.
Apart from religious significance, turban has become a must have
accessory of wedding ceremonies in India. Turban is an integral part of
the wedding apparel of the groom and other senior male members of the
family. The natural shine and elegance of silk have made it a most
sought after fabric for making wedding turban.

Design & Colour
Silk turbans come in many different shades and designs. Turbans are
mostly preferred in plain solid colors. Sometimes printed turbans are
also preferred. Those worn by groom are available in bright colours.
Turbans worn by Rajputs from Rajasthan are woven in different fabrics
including tie-dyes, leheriyas or self woven brocades. Zari work,
Zardozi, Crystals, sequins and stones are also used to adorn the turbans
for special occasions.
